Peace jasper goes by many names; atlas stone, lapis jade, lapis Nevada/Nevada lapis, and/or Nevada stone.
This beautiful gemstone was discovered in the state of Nevada in 1954. Though not seen very often, it is not terribly rare, and is actually a combination of many different minerals. The presence of the dominant minerals determines the color of each individual piece. It can be predominately pink, green, cream, rose-pink, and even lavender.
Peace jasper is a stone of protection and courage. It is also said to help when a person is carrying heavy burdens and its calming, soothing energies assist with relaxation, reducing depression, and emotional healing.
